Planning to come to the best party of the year? Here are some ideas of what will be going on, what to expect and what to remember to bring.

There are a few changes so take note -
big one is that the neighbors are NOT having a pig roast this year.

Timeline

Thurs Aug 2rd, people start arriving.

3-6 pm:   Our town has a great farmers market on the green, which is a short walk from our house. Vendors will have fresh veggies, herbs, bakes goods, canned goods as well as prepared meals like quiches and a new vendor with Greek food!

7-8:30pm the town band plays after the farmers market.

Friday, Aug3 rd. Christmas Eve

We will have tubes blown up far a tubing trip down the river.

The talent show on our porch on Saturday night.

Maybe tie dye if there is time - bring something to dye - or plan to stop by the 2 thrift stores in town for something.

Come to the talent show with your best tacky sweater, winner from last year, Owen Kennedy has the equally tacky CIA trophy - which will now be passed on to the next winner of the best worst sweater.

Saturday, Aug 4th. Christmas Morning. Did Santa come??!!

Ok, so we are on our own for the BBQ on Sat. What do we want to do about that - can we still do a pot luck and see how that works out? I will make one pulled pork and let's all add something in.

Tubes will still be there for the taking for another trip down the river, there are lots of place to just hang out and swim which always seems to be going on.

Sunday, Aug 5th

Dave and Marcia have not confirmed coming so we might be on our own for this breakfast too. . . . let's still plan for everyone bring a little something to add to a fruit salad. I like that idea.

What To Expect

Let's go for a hike, play some games, go for a bike ride (the sandy beach is about a mile away) hang out in front of a bon fire, play some fiddles and guitars.

What We have

As is years past, we will have: large, covered front area in case of rain, outdoor shower, port potty, a kitchen area with prep tables, outdoor sink, a grill, (Our "spare" grill is finally toast so if anyone has a portable one they can bring for the weekend, that might help) plenty of tubes, line for hanging wet towels/suits etc., ping pong table, bocci ball and croquet, coffee in the morning, recycling, garbage and compost containers,

What To Bring

Here is a brief list of what I can remember at the moment that would be handy to bring:

sunscreen

flashlight

bug spray

some warm clothes as it does get cool in the evening

towels

camp chair

coffee cup

Ugly Sweater

Talent for the show

Water shoes

lawn games

fishing gear

Check back, I may remember more stuff to add, but that is a start.

See you soon!!

Kat, Don and Ollie.
