10 year anniversary of C.I.A.!!!

Planning to come to the best party of the year? Well here are some ideas of what will be going on, what to expect and what to remember to bring.

Thurs Aug 3rd, people start arriving.

3-6 pm:   Our town has a great farmers market on the green, which is a short walk from our house. Vendors will have fresh veggies, herbs, bakes goods, canned goods as well as prepared meals like quiches and a new vendor with Greek food!

7-8:30pm the town band plays after the farmers market.

Friday, Aug 4th, Christmas Eve

We will have tubes blown up far a tubing trip down the river. Don bought another round so there is no need to bring ANY tubes!!

It was fun having the talent show on our porch on Friday night, though that can move back to Sat if enough people are not arriving until Sat who plan to participate in the show. I really wanted to vote on past shows to bring back some favorites but I am not sure how to add a poll to this . . . .

Rich and Kathy will bring stuff to tie dye if there is time - bring something to dye - or plan to stop by the NEWLY EXPANDED thrift store in town for something.

NOW FOR SOMETHING NEW! Come to the talent show with your best and brightest, tackiest and tasteless, gaudy and gorgeous Ugly Christmas sweater, fleece, hoodie, whatever you need to stay warm and show off your love of Christmas. I believe Kathy and Rich have the equally tacky CIA trophy - which will now be passed on the the winner of the best worst sweater.

Saturday, Aug 5th. Christmas Morning. Did Santa come??!!

The neighbors do plan to do a pig roast but they are planning a much smaller, calmer version of their party, like it was in the beginning. If it turns out that our side is substantially larger and the pig they get is more for us, I might want to take up a contribution to help with the $ for it. Sat afternoon, if we all bring a little something to share at the BBQ, that has seemed to work out great!

I'm sure Bill will be planning a fishing trip. DO PLAN to get your butt up early, he is not messing around here.

Tubes will still be there for the taking for another trip down the river, there are lots of place to just hang out and swim which always seems to be going on.

Sunday, Aug 6th

Dave and Marcia have again offered to make their amazing biscuits and gravy send-off breakfast! The best ever!! If the rest of us bring some kind of fruit for a salad to add to the breakfast, that has worked out in the past.

What To Expect

Also in there somewhere we will probably go for a hike, play some games, go for a bike ride (the sandy beach is about a mile away) hang out in front of a bon fire, play some fiddles and guitars,

What We have

As is years past, we will have: large, covered front area in case of rain, outdoor shower, port potty, a kitchen area with prep tables, outdoor sink, a grill, (I think our "spare" grill is finally toast so if anyone has a portable one they can bring for the weekend, that might help) plenty of tubes, line for hanging wet towels/suits etc., ping pong table, bocci ball and croquet, coffee in the morning, recycling, garbage and compost containers,

What To Bring

Here is a brief list of what I can remember at the moment that would be handy to bring:

bug spray

some warm clothes as it does get cool in the eve

camp chair

coffee cup

Ugly Sweater

Talent for the show

Water shoes

lawn games

fishing gear

Check back, I may remember more stuff to add, but that is a start.
SO EXCITED for this year! Something extra special going on with Christmas for the extra special celebration.

See you soon!!

Kat, Don and Ollie.
